I don't really profess to understand the mechanism fully at work but life is full of ironies....some football examples:

-Spurrier is in charge of a dynasty at UF but butts heads with the President or whoever is the "swinging #@$%" up there and says he's going to move on to the NFL. Gets his 'you know what' handed to him in the NFL so tries to come back and gets banished to the netherlands of Columbia.

-UF chases off it's "hometown boy made good" hero and suffers through the Zook era...

-Little Nicky wants to make it big time and finds out his act doesn't fly when the room he is talking to is full of other multi-millionaire ego maniacs.....back to college ball....

-Alabama suffers through years of mediocrity because they are too stubborn to look outside the Bama family....

My point would be that in most cases you get what you deserve in this life.....so I hope that the LSU fans can recognize that the football program does not exist in a vacuum. (sp?) It is better to display some class, loyalty and appreciation while you experience THE GOLDEN ERA OF LSU FOOTBALL....otherwise the gods may indeed by prepared to take it from you.

Take a look at JoePa....i think Penn St. is doing well, again. Do you think they should have bailed on him a few years ago? Sometimes, if you hang in there things do get better. Life is cyclical....ride it out, otherwise you expose yourself as having no character and simply being a selfish, mercenary......see Coach Saban. Does anybody really respect that man as a human being?

Miles is winning. More than any coach in the history of the LSU football program. I'm not a stat jockey so i will leave that to others but his record is demonstrably better than all the other coaches we have had. How about a thank you? How about a, "you know what coach....we trust you. We're not going to lose confidence in you or the players. Maybe there will be some rough moments but all in all you're our guy....now go out there and win another championship for the great state of Louisiana!!!"

    How about that?

never said Miles wasnt winning. I said play to the potential we know we are capable of.
I would BET Miles expects that too.

the whole get what you deserved thing with college FB gods is beyond me hoss, but if this is a conspiracy theory you can make work for you then Im not going to knock it. Could be true I have no way of knowing.

You can take random sets of circumstances from the past and make them fit lots of conspiracy theorys though. the whole Nostradomous (sp) thing.

Who was better than LSU in 2007? Who? Ohio State was the only one and we beat them head ups. All the top teams had losses and LSU was the best of them.

Why? He has done everything a top coach is supposed to do. He wins the games, he recruits great, he wins championships. You seem to be upset because we don't win a championship every year. I just don't get it. You young guys just don't know what a bad coach feels like, but many of us do. We've been there and this ain't it.

Not this year, you're not, my friend.

You could not be more wrong, I don't know what else to tell you. The Curley Hallman teams were dreadful. I realize you were only about 6, but they were bad. But this team is good on defense and special teams and is only a quarterback away from being complete. As it is we ain't doing too bad. And we still have 2 other quarterbacks to try. And one of them is a passer.
