Anybody know if this guy is really considering Michigan? I heard he has been visiting Michigan quite a lot and I was just curious what are the chances he ends up there over LSU. I mean c'mon LSU could really use this guy and it would help out tremendously to have him in uniform in Baton Rouge. What are the chances he comes to baton rouge?
I would be shocked, but now days, you never know. Most visit Mich this time of the year, when the weather is good. I was talking with a kid from Tx who went to Mich., transferred back down South and finished playing and school. The other thing is what Cam will do with the offense and players. The word I got is that Cam has been fitting in well with the players and their families. We'll see, but a long time till signing day.
I think his Michigan visit was a favor to Jabrill Peppers, who Fournette has become friends with. Having said that, I could see Hoke doing his best to convince Fournette that he'd be BMOC now that Denard Robinson is gone. Hopefully Fournette realizes that he can't carry Michigan alone and that he has much better chances to win a championship at LSU than Michigan.
Looking forward to catching him in person this year play. I'm not sure you have a strong chance at luring Fournette to Michigan given the cache the SEC carries, the diminishing success on the field of the Big 10 in general outside of tOSU, and you'll likely be the feature back wherever you go. LSU offers a rotation of backs which we've seen really help recent Tiger tailbacks make the transition to the NFL which also follows a platoon tailback system. Less wear and tear, high level competition, chance for immediate post-season success, and you won't play second fiddle to a Notre Dame/tOSU.. You never know with young kids, but I think Les' wink and nod by not taking a tailback last season and the fact Jeremy Hill's probably not going to be around next year along with Blue provides the perfect storm for him to come in and claim immediate fame. Recent St. Aug alum Tyrann Mathieu found quite the notoriety in Baton Rouge for his on-field play so you can be a star at LSU. The off the field issues notwithstanding, of course.
Things are starting to set in there at Mich., last year they were 8-5. If these RB's only remember one stat......... In the entire history of the NFL only a handful of running backs have had more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage in an entire season, Cam coached two of them (Ray Rice and LaDainian Tomlinson). Thats the only thing they have to remember. Kids want to get to the NFL, Cam knows the quickest route.
Right. I once heard a story from an acquaintance who visited there in the summer for a convention, and the temperature was about 78. The concierge at his hotel sincerely apologized for the intense heat. He literally laughed at the guy because he thought he was joking...nope, dead serious.
Has there been any interviews with LF since the camp? I would love to hear his take and comments about the camp.
