This is Ronna McDaniel trying to unfuck herself. The commission was specifically created to look into the Capitol security breach and it was so stated in the bipartisan statement creating the commission. The people involved in the legitimate pollical discourse happening on the lawn aren't being persecuted. The RNC stupidly gave a hammer to the Democrats to beat them over the head with. We will see tons of political adds this season by democratic spin masters showing the violence with the RNC label of legitimate political discourse. And of course the republican spin masters will be showing the BLM riots. it will be a full on chicken fucking contest.
so she is lying and she means to celebrate violence, because she means the things you say she means and not what she says?
You're over way over the top of what I said. The RNC first statements didn't make a sharp distinction between the lawn protesters and the Capitol building trashers - lumping them all as legitimate public discourse. The reaction from all sides, including within her own party, was swift and harsh. But most importantly to the center right, where the fight for votes always takes place. She's trying to dial it back.
Pity the Repugnantcons these days, having to constantly create excuses for repugnant members and their repugnant behavior. Fuck that.... LOCK THEM UP.
i am trying to see where they did anything dumb. they are not saying the violent folks are good, they even clarified that for you.
These first paragraphs below in a Washington Post article explain it best. The issue is that in politics it doesn't matter what you meant to say; or even what you said; what matters is what the opposition can make it sound like you said. The dumb part was the what the RNC said to justify the censure of Chaney and Kinzinger makes it real easy for democrats to make it sound like they were defending violence. "When the Republican Party voted to censure two of its own members of Congress last week at its winter meeting in Salt Lake City, it justified the move in part by declaring that efforts to investigate the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection amounted to the persecution of individuals engaging in “legitimate political discourse.” Those three words have since sparked a massive backlash among GOP senators who fear the resolution could jeopardize the party’s fortunes in the midterm elections. The move has also led to days of attempted political cleanup by the Republican National Committee over the language and the accompanying censures of Reps. Liz Cheney (Wyo.) and Adam Kinzinger (Ill.). While RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and party officials say they did not intend to defend violent insurrectionists in the resolution — which passed the committee of grass-roots members overwhelmingly — the words have been widely criticized by Republicans and Democrats alike."
