The only Difference i see is one was plan as political activism and one was just a political rally that went wrong.

Both were wrong in the end.

I don't think either were insurrection. I know when they were happening I called the BLM riots insurrection, but that was heat of the moment. Thinking about it now, I think those events fall more under the definition of terrorism, if your definition is, violence directed against civilian targets for the purpose of eroding the civilian population's confidence in government. The BLM riots were intended (IMO, and among other things) to erode our confidence in government's ability to enforce the law and prevent civil unrest.

I don't think any of these Senators have changed what they believe. They just grew a pair and spoke what they believe. Interesting the timing of all of this. Just as election season is kicking off you see a bit of stepping back from Trump. Their consultants must see or sense a change in attitude towards Trump. Which is more believable than any of them found their balls.

they didnt mean the rioters, they meant the protesters that didnt storm the building:

"party leaders rushed to clarify that language, saying it was never meant to apply to rioters who violently stormed the Capitol in Mr. Trump’s name"

    https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/04/us/politics/republicans-jan-6-cheney-censure.html

its a misrepresentation to claim they meant the violent ones that smashed windows and punched cops. so its not comparable to the BLM guys that murdered, and burned billions. smashing and burning the property of innocent people that were not involved, like the car dealership rittenhouse defended.

no and they specifically said they dont mean the violent part.

"“Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger crossed a line,” Ronna McDaniel, the Republican National Committee chairwoman, said in a statement. “They chose to join Nancy Pelosi in a Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens who engaged in legitimate political discourse that had nothing to do with violence at the Capitol"
