The RNC, while censuring Rep. Adam Kinzinger and Rep. Liz Cheney, have declared that the behavior and actions during the January 6th Capital attack were "legitimate political discourse." By this definition the looting and rioting during BLM are also legitimate political discourse. In my opinion, neither of them are legitimate political discourse. They are birds of a feather; the people who looted and rioted and those who stormed the Capital. They are just different sides of the same coin.

I can't wait to hear the responses on this one. This should be rich.

Anyone from Chaz charged with insurrection?

I mean, in my view, if they let one group get away with it, kinda hard to put that cat back in the bag.

In a way it’s comical. Kinda like people virtue signaling for poor minorities yet routinely vote to keep section 8 out of their neighborhoods, you know, poor minority housing.

To be clear, no one at BLM was charged with insurrection either.

I agree. Neither were legitimate political discourse. But, there were vastly different levels or violence, looting, and property damage during the BLM protests in democratic run cities then there was at the capitol on Jan. 6th. No one was killed or raped by the unarmed maniacs gunning for AOC, who was miles away. No one got close enough to intimidate Pence into decertifying the election, and nothing was set on fire. In fact, the damage to the Capitol had to be in the high hundreds, compared to the billions in damages to Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, and similar cities with democrats in charge.

Doesn't mean I'm condoning Jan 6th. I just don't believe it was an 'insurrection' and pointing out the different levels of violence, burning, and looting at each event.

I appreciate your honesty and I respect you for agreeing that neither is political discourse. We can go back and forth all day about which was worse and likely both have great points to make but still never come to a conclusion. Both were wrong. It's important that all well-intentioned American's, of all stripes, can recognize what is and isn't legitimate political discourse.

So ... how many BLM terrorists are still rotting in jail? NOW .. how many peaceful Jan 6th protestors are still rotting in jail?

    AND .. there's your difference.

I see no need to discuss the morality of riots. I can’t believe that is a serious question.

Like, who the fuck advocates for riots?
