I'm not sure that I fully understand the details of legalization. Could any company manufacture and sell as long as they go through the proper registration process and remit the applicable taxes? Would the product have to go through FDA (or another) approval?

Would we see an increase in edibles that would lead to young kids picking up what they think are regular "cookies" around the house? If this happened once to an otherwise responsible family, would child protective services remove the children from the home permanently?

What if someone decided to grow it themselves to avoid the higher costs (which include the hefty tax)? Would that be illegal? What if they gave (or sold) their home-grown products to friends?

How do you test for driving under the influence? I could probably think of a few other questions since I don't think I've ever read through a comprehensive/detailed solution (although obviously one must have been created for California recently).

I would make it legal to grow in your house as long as you yield under what one would consider an amount for personal consumption. If you grow more than that, then you should be subject to fines, and should have to pay taxes on anything above that.

You test the same way. It's hard to prove DUI's for other substances and pot stays in your system for a long time even though the effects of it, only last for a couple hours at best. If they can't drive they won't pass any field sobriety tests.

You won't see an increase in kids getting the edibles because it's not like a wave of new pot smokers is going to surface just because it's legal. It's going to be the same people who are smoking now. Of course you will have new heads, but most will be young or considerably older for medical reasons.

You live in Fantasyland. The drug cartels are praying for this. It's like a stimulus program for crack dealers.

As nicely as I can say this, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

So you think alcohol prohibition worked?

what happens when kinds drink a bottle of beer they find in the house?

i have brewed my own beer and given it to friends, it would be like that.

incorrect. if drugs were legal, proper corporations would make the drugs, not murderous cartels
