If pot was legal I wonder if you would still have to drug test at work for it and if they could fire you for having it in your system?
Well sure. There are companies that don't hire tobacco smokers, they could still have a policy against pot smokers. And I said yes, but not because of the fiscal aspects of it. This is one of those things I'm more libertarian on. It's no worse than alcohol, with the exception that it's against the law and the associated problems the likes of. Take that away, and it's probably the least harmful drug out there with regard to health of the user. If someone wants to sit around and smoke pot all day and they waste their life in doing so, fine by me. To each their own. If they can't find a job because companies test, or because they become lethargic and lazy, it's on them. They should put a big ass label on it that says "Hey! This sh!t might phuck you up and make you eat the ass end out of a rhino!", and let the person make the choice as to whether it's right for them or not. I know plenty of people that are regular smokers that make really good money and don't have problems managing their lives. It's like alcohol.. Some can do it, some can't.
I know the refinary I work at has gotten hard core. The word is 277 people out of almost 1200 busted the first hair test. Some started shaving their head so they got underarm and chest hair. Lots tried to beat it with shampoo and failed. I say pot should be like alcohol and taxed. Make it where it's only grown in America. No imports. I would bet it would work better than my normal arthrits meds.
I would vote for legalization - but that's been true for a lot longer than the budget "Crisis". The money we could make in taxes is nothing compared to the money we've pissed away in the last 60 or 70 years trying to remove from society something that grows like wild flowers. It's impossible. What have we spent when you total the Federal, State, and local money spent on this - including the jail costs? At the same time we've created and funded things like the Mexican drug war. And we've given the most violent ruthless people on the planet a path to wealth. Great policy idea.
It's isn't just pot that they're smuggling in though. Legalization would knock a dent out of their profits, but they'd make it up by running more coke mules.
At this point in time your right. But pot was the 'gateway' drug that allowed small businesses to become multinational corporations.
Four hair test and breathalizer test a year. You can't beat the hair test. Many have got caught thinking they could. If you can beat it I haven't heard how
