Legalize Pot to Balance Budget?

    The idea is that the legalization and subsequent taxation of marijuana would essentially help to dig us out of the hole that we are in over a number of years.

    I know most of you knew what I was getting at, but I still figured that I should elaborate.

    Which budget? State or Federal? Would doing A even certainly cause B? I think this question is like saying should we make m&m's illegal to stop aids.

    i wouldnt do that. i think it more like asking if you we would make our girlfriends 15% hotter if we had to take a pay raise.

    I would vote yes on legalization, but your justification does not make sense. Making pot legal, even if it generated 500 billion dollars, would not even put a dent in the deficit.

    We should all be for legalization because it is a freedom issue and we should all like things that increase freedom.

    by legalizing, how much would be saved in court/legal costs, and incarceration costs of users that arent breaking the law in other ways, but simply by possession?

    and how many football players would not be suspended each year?
