Yeah. The NCAA is not stupid. They know that someone who is warming up to go into every, single game is not "injured". He never was injured, either.
Great post. Yes, as disappointed as we may be as Tiger fans, we have to remember the situation Lee was put in to begin with (not gonna rehash it here). Unfortunately, it's mostly on the job training, and we know it's not easy in the SEC. I looked at Lee's stats, and other than the INT's , his stats aren't bad. We know that CLM and coaching staff aren't trying to lose these games. Two NC's in a short period of time have set our expectations quite high, and we have to learn to temper those expectations with reality. :geauxtige
Youre completely missing the point of my post. I think Crowton is an offensive genius. I just think he is trying to be the genius with the formations and gadget plays. Which work better with a more seasoned QB. Here is my main beef. Against UGA, LSU was running right up the gut on them for a nice AVG. Yet, in crucial moments he brings in Hatch and Holliday. Everyone and their grandma knows here comes the option. Sure enough it gets stopped. Also at other moments he starts trying to run wide, when it wasnt working, but the middle was. We throw the WR screens a bit too much as well, especially considering that might be the worst throw Lee makes. Against Bama LSU was running well, but as mentioned, they stacked the line. LSU started throwing on early downs, drive down and score. Yet in the most crucial drive, he gets conservative, trying to run when Bama new it was coming. Why not stick with what worked, throwing mixing run/pass on first and second. Not putting Lee in third and long. Same with OT. Im not at all saying LSU should abandon the pass, quiet the opposite. Its just picking the right plays at the right times. Right now teams are stacking the line, so the outside isnt gonna work very often. We are having decent success up the middle though. Also, Jefferson could have brought another element had he been put in the game. LSU needed a spark, period. Jefferson may or may not have brought it but he should have been given the oppertunity.
For those of you who keep saying, "Obviously, Miles thinks that Lee is the better choice," Miles just said in his press conference that Jefferson will definitely get to play this Saturday. So, he's finally come to the conclusions that a lot of us have come to - JJ needs to get into the mix. It's just said that he waits this long to do it. Spelling Lee and playing JJ against Tulane (like they did with Hatch) could have helped both of them up to this point, but...
I think playing JJ is Miles way of giving the fans what they want...I don't think he would have done it if he hadn't felt the heat of the fans on Saturday night. I also don't think he would be doing it if we had won Saturday night.
If Hatch is done for the year, the redshirt had to come off Jefferson. There are four games yet, Lee could get hurt and we'd be playing Jefferson anyway. Les must find ways to get him into the game gradually rather than having circumstances just throw him into the pit.
I'm not calling for JJ to start, but if he's supposed to get playing time to get ready in case Lee is hurt Les better hurry, because the season is ending fast.
