I am quite calm.. but Miles says a lot of things. It is not what he says... it is what he does.. sometimes there is quite a schism between the two. In my estimation, second half of the Tulane game was an excellent opportunity for Jefferson. He did say that he would have meaningful playing time then.. I just saying...

You can't have it both ways, BBF. Either our OC is conservative or he isn't.

Im happy with the coaches out there on the field, essay.

The same happened the last season of JR; there were games where I had wished Flynn would come on in expected blow out games earlier on. However it turned out that JR never quite put things away (seemingly "hogging" the quarters) until late in the game resulting in hardly meaningful playing time for Flynn.

With Lee, I got the sense that he still needed more reps in the game, and hence JJ came in quite late in the game.

Apparently you have been to every practice and team meeting so please enlighten us. What has Jefferson shown thus far that warrants pulling Lee and inserting him into the lineup...aside from being the 3rd string QB, that is?

Again, that was different. That season, we had no clear cut running back. All of them were struggling, even Hester, and the o-line couldn't run block for crap. Keiland didn't come on until later in the season. That's not so this year, since we have a lot of hosses.

Every gameplan isn't the same for every team played. Every season is different.

I can talk me some futbol. I'm just not a frustrated coach. I'm also not one to try and pin blame for everything that happens. Everybody is different. Go on with your strategy sessions and I'll try not to interrupt.

    A few comments –

    1. I, like a lot of Tiger fans, thought that the offense would be better than it is because of our stable of backs and receivers and our offensive line – remember the comments about all the quarterback has to do is get the ball to the play makers – well it is obvious you need an experienced quarterback as the leader of the offense – we started the season without an experienced quarterback – and it shows. All the incomplete passes aren’t Lee’s fault. A back not being able to turn the corner is not Lee’s fault. But when you combine those dropped passes, etc. with Lee’s mistakes, it can appear that he is the only problem – he is not – it is a combination of factors. One thing we keep forgetting is that we are the defending National Champion and everyone brings their A+ game into contest with the Tigers. But this is the deck of cards LSU has to play with this season – the players and the coaches are dealing with what they have. The possibility of a 9-3 season is realistic and that is not bad considering our lack of experience at quarterback and in our defensive backfield.

    2. I agree with a previous post that Lee’s biggest problem now is confidence – he knows he makes mistakes and that can result in over compensating and over reaching – trying to do more than he should. It looks like he is a talented quarterback and hopefully with the experience of this season and working on his mistakes in the spring, we’ll be cheering for him on Saturday’s for a few years. Fans’ booing doesn’t help, but that is part of the game – every team has those fans, not just LSU.

    3. I think JJ should be playing some – if for no other reason than to get some SEC game experience – but if he makes a bonehead freshman mistake (and he will) I hope the fans don’t boo him – it will be hard enough to play in the SEC as a freshmen quarterback without his team’s fans booing him.
