This thread isn't about defense, but i agree with you there.

However, Lee's downfield passing IS the reason Charles Scott is able to average 7 or 8 yds per carry against SEC opponents. If you keep the other variables the same and put in a QB without the deep ball threat, all any defense has to do is stack the box, its really that simple. With LSU's offensive line sure Scott would still get some, but there would also be more plays for a loss. Without the DEEP BALL threat you effectively eliminate LSU's shining talent at WR, who are just getting warmed up this season. You have to have BALANCE or a monkey can gameplan for you. Nobody is saying that LEE is our only asset on offense, or that Scott isn't one of the best RB in the nation, but if you can't see that Lee is better for a fluid SEC offense, then you just don't want to see it.:thumb:

Based on what I have read in the posts so far, I can dare say that most fans (over 90-95%) are quite pleased with Lee's performance, including the longtime fans who know the game well. Lee's performance has exceeded most fans' expectations (considering the hole he was in), and the prognosis looks good. We all expect that Lee is going to make some mistakes, but that is all part of the growing pain and the game of football; it is silly to put unrealistic expectations or criticisms on him, particularly at this stage. Looking back at the past great LSU QB's in recent times, Rohan, Mauck, JR, Flynn, they all have made bonehead mistakes here and there, even with their game experience.

I am sure the talented WR core are pumped up knowing that they now have a QB who can utilize or showcase their talents, and enhance the firepower of their team.:thumb: For a while I was quite concerned about the frustrated looks of the WR's up to the first half of the Auburn game this year.

I was, too. I was hating to see the WRs have no one to get them the ball. It was rather pathetic. I truly believe we have a solution to that problem in Lee. Apparently, all that he needed was confidence, and he gained that down by ten on the road at AU after throwing a pick six.

I think he'll handle the Swamp, as well--especially since that defense isn't as stout.

I agree, since he had the "nice" game experience in Auburn.....and so will the rest of this team. They don't seem to buckle under pressure, like last year's team. Maybe that's a trait of :milesmic:

Just for the record, I am glad we weren't able to get Casey and Rick's little brother, but managed to pick up Lee.

I think he is a damn strong quarterback on a damn strong football team.:milesmic:

He's good at football. That's all there is to it.:insane:
