don't be scared. To my knowledge, he's only disposed of 2 or 3 people, and they were expendable, so nobody noticed.
Yeah, I know. SEC Freshman of the week. Wow. What an honor. And its not like we have a great Oline. Oh wait, yeah, we kind of do have a great oline. Oh well, its not like we have three outstanding RBs, any of which could probably split snaps at any college in the country. Yeah, Well, hmmm.... Ok, then...its not like we have great WRs, guys who can get open, one of whom that is constantly in mock drafts as a first round pick? Yeah, right. Well now...ok, but the defense. They don't stop anyone, we are asking a RSFR to come in and score tds on every drive. Hmmm, not so much. Alright..I got it. I got it. The coaching staff. They suck. They have never won anything at any lev.... Wait, you mean we have a great Oline, a great running backs, oustanding WRs, a very capable defense (that did give up too many yards to MSU), a coaching staff that has avg 11 wins three years straight and young Jarrett is in his second year with this offense? Yeah, Dude. I can see what your saying. Its truly a miracle that this guy has any kind of success.
All of the above were true in 2004 and we couldn't manage crap out of the QB position in many games. I'm not saying that Lee is a proven commodity just yet, but I'm feeling a lot warmer and fuzzier than I was before the Barn game.
Who said he doesn't have support? Following your logic, a qb must have no Oline, no RBs, no WRs, no defense, no special teams, and no coaches, in order to prove his talent? Here is newsflash for you, talent shows through regardless of your teammates, but it's teams(you know that's what they use in the game of football), that compliment each other and breed success. Qb ratings are the most accurate measure of success, and yet you discount his rating, because he has talent around him. Should Scott turn in his cleats because he has the audacity to play on a team with a good line? Lafell most assuredly is mediocre, because a lesser QB would expose him for the fraud he is? If you want a qb to meet your standards, you should just stick to tennis.
Not at all. I don't really even like tennis!? My point is...(and it was really very simple) was that with all this team offers, I would EXPECT him to be "best freshman" in the country. He is in the best situation. And its good that he is. But name another freshman QB, or any position for that matter, in a better situation than Jarrett Lee. Its a toast to CLM for creating this situation. If we we couldn't run the ball, any QB, but esp a young one would struggle. All this guy has to do is 1) not throw stupid INTs (anymore) 2)hand the ball off to one of the best RBs in the country 3)find the open WR (and one of them will be open). I understand playing QB is hard, but it cannot get any easier for young JL.
