Toliver (Toliver is a sophomore & was a 5 star recruit - Tolliver was a 4 star WR who is redshirting) has put on weight, he still needs a few pounds, but that is not what is holding him back. He has to learn the playbook.
fixed seriously, did you watch LSU in 2004? the frustration level with QB play in 2008 doesn't even approach that.
I agree with you Mrs. Hatch...and we should fire the coach over it. :nope: Thanks to Jarrett Lee, we are not a one dimensional team. We can now spread the ball around, and get the talented wide receivers involved. They were pretty much a non factor without Lee at the helm, because there was just no threat of stretching the field.
I spent the entire halftime against AU trying to accept that, myself. And while I know that Lee will still encounter some growing pains, I feel like he's doing a great job. I'm eager to see how he performs in the Swamp.
Lee has improved dramatically. I would like him to read the Defense a bit more. Lafell has NFL written all over him. I think he is alot better than the top WRs in college football right now. D.Byrd has NFL potential as well, everything looks easy for D.Byrd, not many DBs can run with this guy. What I mean by reading the Defense a bit more is when he throw that out to Lafell before Lafell made the cut to the flat. Great throw no doubt, but if the defense is in a zone, you wait till he cuts to throw the ball. I am just nitpicking, I know, but I am more than satisfied with his play. He will be a great QB.
This year Scott is not bursting through the line and getting tackled by a linebacker. This year he is exploding through a huge hole and bursting through the linebackers before being tackled by a safety. Watch the offensive line play on the TiVo some evening. They move people off the line, they work well to both sides, they pick up stunts and blitzes, they block downfield. 375-pound guards leap like freaking Superman to cover a fumble! This may be the finest offensive line I've seen in 40 years of watching LSU play football. Scott is getting his opportunity at the best time in the world. And so is Mr. Lee.
No, the sky is not fallling. But the competition is about to get much tougher. I am thrilled that Jarrett Lee thrills you. He doesn't thrill me. We have a difference of opinion, I suppose. Lee is improving. But from what? From the first half in Auburn? My grandmother could improve on that. The UF game will determine whether or not he has improved. The QB for Ole Miss lit UF up. JL should be able to do so as well.
Wow. Now hes doing a "great job"? Ok, I guess. As you say, lets wait to see how he does in the Swamp. If he is as good as you guys are saying, we should win easily in the Swamp.
I say if our LBs can cover RBs out of the backfield, we should win easily. Florida has been especially good at exploiting this, starting with Ran Carthon and Ciatrick Fason in 2003. I agree with Deek. That 2004 season was painful to watch at times, in regard to the QB position. I dont get nervous watching Jarrett Lee drop back to pass like I did with Marcus Randall, and yes, even JRuss. I didnt expect this kind of production out of him until next season. He is still a RSFR, so there are going to be mistakes, but it is quite heartening to see him further along in his development than JRuss was at this stage.
