I could have beat Bama with Lee ... on Nov 5th, and on Jan 9th.

Let's just face it ... CLM is no offensive genius. If he runs the same game plan next year as he did this year, you will see the exact same result ... that being ....

    - Smashing weaker teams ... [AU, TN, OM, KY, FL, NW, WK, MState]
    - Relying on the defense and special teams to turn momentum around in the bigger games. ... [OR, Bama, WVU, AR, GA] .. or losing [BCS NCG]
    - A winning season, but no BCS NC.

If you watched the previous Bama/LSU game then you would know that yes, Lee could have done much, much worse. The fact that Lee has done much, much worse than JJ over his career is exactly why JJ has gotten the bulk of the playing time and not Lee.

Regardless of his record this year, Tiger Nation as a whole never accepted his position at the starter and spent every drop back cringing, wondering when the pick sixes would start again.

Then JJ was put back on the team.

As soon as JJ started getting more and more snaps, the grumbling started. The boos began to rain down when JJ stepped on the field, just seconds before he throws a long TD.

Without JJ, Lee becomes an incarnation of Jamie Howard who also is now beloved by LSU fans. When he played though, that was not the case.

This thread is yet another angle of the dead horse.

I did watch the bama/LSU game. There is no way you can prove that JL would have done worse because he was no given the chance. If he did worse so be it. The score would still be zero. But we will never know will we. I like how you never address the meaning of insanity when lsu_dane asked. Nor did you give me JJ's stats for the BCS game. Support JJ all you want. The dude couldn't make it past the 50 yard line. This wasn't his first game off either. I was shocked we won against Ga. Thank you defense.

JJ had a tight end and a wide receiver on two different plays streaking wide open down the middle of the field and he missed them both times. One he threw to the outside receiver who was double covered (which is why the other wr was wide open) and the other time he pulled it down and ran right into the waiting arms of the Bama D-Line. I know for sure the wide out could have been six, not sure about the TE but at least it would have went for major yardage.

As far as Lee, the more I hear this guy speak, the more he shows his class. Glad he was a Tiga!!!!! Wish him the best:thumb:

"He's not loved by LSU because he didn't play in the NCG. He's loved by LSU because while our "leader" was kicking someone in the face, Lee was leading the team to a 9-0 start and leading the SEC in QB Rating. He's loved because he stuck with LSU through tough times and fought back. He's loved because without him we wouldn't have even made it to the NCG this year. How he plays against Bama is irrelevant. Without him we aren't even playing against them on the 9th. He's loved because he doesn't whine on the field, and blame other people for his mistakes. He takes his lumps and never gave up."

Thank you. I couldn't have said it better. GO TIGERS in 2012.
