This makes the loss sting even more. You can definitely tell between what he and others have said about the unused game plan portions that we didn't leave it all on the field. I don't wanna pass blame, but this stings. I do love JLee, though. Great Tiger. Talk about putting the team before yourself.

Of course he feels that he would have done better. I would expect nothing less than that from Lee. You don't hang around a school for that many years after being vilified so without a modicum of self-confidence. His character has never been in doubt and it continues long after he faces no repercussions for speaking his mind. That is some serious integrity.

Lee has never had a game against Bama where he played well. People always take the position that had he entered the game, he would have done better than Jefferson. No one ever considers that he might have done worse. It's not outside the realm of possibility as evidenced by his entire career at LSU versus Bama. Still, LSU fans insist that he would have done well and the idea that he would have done worse is avoided completely.

The best thing that could have happened to him, happened. Now instead of being hated by LSU fans for playing poorly against Bama (as he has always done), he's loved by LSU fans because of their misaligned ideas that he could have changed the outcome for the better. Now he's riding a float with T-Bob Hebert which is funny because I can't think of two guys whose careers at LSU were more full of disappointment. Still, because of an idiotic email they're riding as Grand Marshalls.

To me the article speaks of Jarret Lee's class and maturity. He should be thanked for his contributions and courage and remembered fondly as a Tiger

Who could have done what Jan 9 is in the past and we need to put it behind us INCLUDING speculating whether JL would have stood tall or failed. As I have defended JJ in the past and believe he should be thanked not slammed for his effort at LSU. The same holds for JL!!

Sure .. of course MLU ... but he also could have come in and lit up the stadium. Past performance is never an indicator of present performance. It's called practice, experience, and improvement. For the last two years ... JJ played exceptional in his bowl games. Didn't happen this time. Because, as I said, past perfomance is never an indicator of future performance.

IMO .. as I've stated before ... Lee's poor performance in Game 1 of this year was more a function of poor play selection. There were plays that were working, just like in the BCSNC, but Miles is hell bent on running the ball down an opponents throat ... even when it's obvious that he's not going to be able to do it.

I give you JJ's performance in both Game 1 and Game 2. You and everyone else are kidding themselves if they think JJ played "good" in either game. But again, to JJ's defense, this was mostly coaching, not the QB's fault. In the BCSNC JJ hit some nice short route passes .. but CLM wasn't paying attention to what was working and what wasn't. Once again, he was bent on running the ball. He'd move the ball down the field with the pass, then run 3 run plays and punt.

I don't even think CLM has the plays in his play book to beat a really good defense. You MUST have the pass option plays. You must use your TE. And ..you MUST have your RB set up as a relief pass .. the bump and run that TR did with Bama is a great play. When LSU covers up the receivers down field,or the rush is comming, TR was there, in an open spot. May not have gained a lot on the play, but it was an additional factor that the defense has to watch. When you get all three going, WR's down field, TE running a quick out, and the RB relief, you maximize your chances. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT BAMA DID TO LSU IN THE BCS NC GAME!!! And while they couldn't punch it in until the end of the game when our D was gassed, they got a lot of FGs out of the deal. .. and kept our offense off the field.

JL couldn't have done worse. JJ couldn't make it pass the 50 yard line.:dis:

And what were JJ's stats for the JJ vs Bama game also known as the BCS game.

JL or Mett could have atleast triggered something on the offense.

How can you do worse than losing? It's the NCG. The score you lose by is irrelevant. It doesn't matter how pretty you lose when the crystal ball is on the line.

He's not loved by LSU because he didn't play in the NCG. He's loved by LSU because while our "leader" was kicking someone in the face, Lee was leading the team to a 9-0 start and leading the SEC in QB Rating. He's loved because he stuck with LSU through tough times and fought back. He's loved because without him we wouldn't have even made it to the NCG this year. How he plays against Bama is irrelevant. Without him we aren't even playing against them on the 9th. He's loved because he doesn't whine on the field, and blame other people for his mistakes. He takes his lumps and never gave up.

If for no other reason Lee should have come in just to give them a different look. Maybe he throws a pick. Maybe he actually gets us into the red zone. Either way it would have been better than what happened, which was to play scared and do nothing.
