IF Miles does not play JJ and IF JL has a great season How does JL's decision to stick out his career here at LSU and not run to a Division II school over the last couple summers make you feel? He has never ducted a tough question, always owned up to his mistakes and been a pretty high class individual. (this is not a slam on JJ but was reading the article above and made me think the JL story could end pretty special.)
Not very detailed but basically had another good camp. Just a little behind JJ and ahead of Mett especially early on. Mett has seemed to close the gap though. I heard Mett looked better than Lee in the 1st 2 scrimmages but do not have any details about the comparisons on the scrimmage yesterday. I assume he did very well for Miles to crown him solidly in front of Mett for the backup role yesterday.
Once again.... Who is more hated in Baton Rouge if Lee starts, and LSU loses... Les Miles, Jordan Jefferson, or Jarrett Lee? If LSU wins and Lee plays lights out (i know it's a stretch) who is your starter if Jefferson is cleared?
If we lose I won't hate any of them, but probably be disappointed in them all. Mostly JJ, then JL, then CLM. If we win and Lee plays light out, you have to stick with the hot hand, until he starts playing poorly, gotta keep em in.
I think that jl will surprise us all. He will know that this is his team now. This chance at redemption is what this young man has dreamed of for years I would bet. Can you imagine how he felt after winning the fl game last year to only watch jj start the next game. He will be a more mature and seasoned qb. Jl will be motivated and he will not be the pic six lee of old. I am looking forward to watching lee make us proud.
If Lee starts and loses to Oregon, I wont call for his head, because it may be safe to say that our players heads were not in it, as long as he plays decent football (Maybe surprises us, which cant be that damn hard) and isnt 9-21 with 62 yards, 3 interceptions, then keep him as our starter and I'll support the kid with Mett on the bench, even after a loss. But it would be sweet to see him play lights out and win a big game one, even sweeter to see him move on and win one in T-Town!
I won't call for his head either. Can you imagine what it must be like for Jarett Lee? Not expecting to play your redshirt freshman year, and RP gets booted, you get thrown to the wolves, and throw 6 or 7 pick 6's. Can't remember. Then your job is taken by a dude, who really isn't that good either, but he can run ok. You get thrown back in a year later against Alabama, who ends up winning the national championship, you get booed off the field against La Tech. You come back and play good against Florida and Tennessee the next year, and still can't get your job back because you have no legs, then 3 weeks before your senior season, dumbass get's into a bar fight and now you could very well be starting when you didn't expect to. What a career, Jaret Lee deserves some props y'all.
