I like the optimism. I have a funny feeling LSU will put together a complete game. We didn't score 38 points against Georgia with a bunch of scrubs. Bama is ripe for the picking.

I sure wish that the coaches would call fewer slants over the middle. The coaches apparently feel that this is Lee's strength, but boy it sure doesn't seem to be working out so well.

Lee threw another Pick Six against Tulane? Wow!

Was it a deep ball or over the middle or another WR screen?

He has thrown 2 Pick 6's with the WR screens, and there is noway they will get a DB on the run back so I don't fault the other players not making the tackles in that scenario, that is all on Lee. I think we need to pull those out of the playbook. Those are so obvious when they are coming and the Defenses know exactly what to look for.

It was a no-look, as-he-was-getting-hit, Jamarcus-Russel-esque intermediate ball over the middle and the LB found a lane and some blockers to return it past several LSU players.

He should have just thrown in it the seats...just like a few others this year. When he learns to do that and to start going through progressions, he'll be alright. If he's not any better in these categories to start next season, I'll stop defending him. As of now, he's still a RS Frosh.

I said, if he can't stop throwing TD's for the other team, he has little future at quarterback. You know this to be true.

If he can fix this major problem, and right now, then he has most of the tools to excel. He's not very mobile and is going to have to be a drop-back passer and could be a very good one. He has the arm and learning to read defenses takes time. But he must find the discipline to throw the ball away if the receiver is not open.

That's Quarterback 101 and it's something you learn early if you want to play quarterback. He can't play at this level until he does. Everyone gets long passes intercepted, everyone gets passes tipped. But forcing short passes to linebackers for Touchdowns is a flaw that he must eliminate right now or he can't go any further in this business.

I like Lee too, Clair. He should have had another year backing up Perrilloux and playing in already-won games. But it didn't work out that way. Lee has been given the opportunity and he has to make it or break it right now. It's the law of the jungle out there. He simply can't throw touchdowns for Bama. I think we can forgive him his other shortcomings, but the pick sixes have to end.

All of his pick sixes have been returned by either linebackers or defensive ends.

At this point, I have taken another view of Lee. The damage is done, we have lost 2 games. I can only hope the kid gets alot better over the course of the last 4 games. Heres the deal, it was very hard for me to watch Lee throw a pick for a td against Tulane, that was a hard pill to swallow. overall the team played like crap, except for a few guys. (Scott and Ridely). It was also frustrating to see Jefferson only play a few minutes. I dont know if that was the game plan or something happened. But Les, if your not going to play him, just redshirt the guy, which is probably hard to do at this point. I trust Les, but I dont like the teasing.
So heres:thumb: to hoping Lee have a great game against the Gumps.

He can't be redshirted now. Les planned to play him more in the second half, but after the pick six, he didn't want to pull Lee with Tulane not yet put away. We needed Jefferson to be ready for Bama. If Lee goes down with Hatch still hurt, we're in bigger trouble than Bama if Wilson goes down.

Yeah. And a true freshman with even LESS experience than Lee is our best option.

It's time we all just start to accept our QB situation this season and get over it. It's NOT like this was something that Miles hasn't done all he can. Remember, this QB situation was forced on him by a lawless Perrilloux that forced Miles' hand.

Before Perrilloux's oust, Miles had finally started to build a steady string of QB's that COULD have been developed by the time they were relied on to lead the team. But that all changed, and we've had to rely on QB's that simply would not have been really ready to play this season.

But it is what it is. Remember, Stafford's season as a Freshman QB starter wasn't great. In fact, he threw more INT's (13) than he did TD's (7) his first season.

Just as a comparison, look at Stafford's Freshman season compared to Lee's thus far...

    Stafford 256 ATT 135 COMP 53% with 7 TD's and 13 INT's
    Lee 189 ATT 106 COMP 56% with 12 TD's and 10 INT's
