People need to keep this in mind. Due to the way Miles and Crowton have handled the QB situation they have NOT put JLee in the best position to succeed. He should have taken FAR MORE snaps by this point of the season then he has. He WILL make mistakes and one of them might cost us. Some people will come on the board and say "All you Lee lovers wanted him to play and now look. We lost a game." And they will be wrong, because without Lee we'd already be 5 - 2. I hope when Lee does make a mistake that Miles doesn't panic and try to go back to relying on JJ heavily, in a "prevent crisis" mode, because that's a dead horse. You might see a glimmer with JJ every once in awhile but he's not a QB. Ever wonder why Miles likes JJ so much? Because he's just like Miles. JJ is indecisive and is constantly trying to prevent a crisis from happening, in the process stalling drives and not giving LSU much of a chance of winning against top teams.
Miles is the head coach. He likes JJ because the kid was thrown in as a true freshman and won a bowl-game MVP trophy. He likes JJ because the kid is probably doing everything within his power to get better, and is probably practicing well. He likes JJ because Miles treats his players like his kids in many ways - just listen to them talk about him. RESPECT is what you hear. Miles isn't indecisive. You just don't like his decisions. I don't like some of them either. Miles thinks the 2 QB system gives LSU the best chance to win. He's decided this. He's sticking to it. I don't understand his decision. But it's clearly a decision. We'll see if it works.
LOL ... making what 5h1t up?? Any person who is obvisouly playing crappy who actually thinks he is playing good is in it for himself. Jefferson is afraid Lee is going to take his starting spot. For Jefferson, it becomes all about himself, and holding on to his title as starter. Contrast that to Lee. If it was "all about Lee", he would have transfered to another school so he could be the starter and get all the glory. But .. no, he stayed put hoping for an opportunity to contribute. I'm sure he'd love to be the starter, but he is satified with making good contributions. Jefferson is satisfied with being labelled starter, and making pathetic contributions.
Didn't Lee throw what should've been a pick-6 against McNeese? In 2008 it would've been. Maybe Lee has suffered all the bad mojo and now only has good mojo left. We should ride the Lee train as far as it takes us. I know one thing for sure: the kid has some serious mental toughness.
It seems unreasonable to me to not even entertain the idea that our qb coaching is subpar and causing much of the team's qb problems.
Sure he's indecisive. He can't decide when to pull the trigger and decide who he's going to play as his full time QB. That's exactly what a 2 QB system is. Trying to find the answer to which QB will step up. It's just Miles doesn't like the answer to his 2 QB system so he keeps it around. Doing nothing is the same as being indecisive.
Lee certainly has a swagger when he steps onto the field. He exudes confidence, and it's refreshing after seeing Jefferson looking lost for most of last season and this season. He has an extra pep in his step. Glad to see his hard work and determination is paying off, and hopefully, he'll get the start against Bama...or today if Les wants to throw us a curveball.
