It's the point, counterpoint thing. Mark May admitted as much earlier in the season in one of their shows when they were breaking down a match-up (I've forgotten who) and said ever so breifly "Well, since this is what is written in front of me so I have to say it..." and they all snickered then went on to state his "view". It's all show, shock and awe stuff.
The media has had a month and a half to cross examine this game. The closer to the game the more over the top, one-upsmanship it becomes. Personally I don't even watch any pregame analysis on this game. I could care less.
Apparently a #1 ranking, being one defensive stop from a perfect season, and a return to the NC game isnt enough. I agree that both OSU and LSU should be considered elite. Corso's an idiot.
OSU is most certainly an elite team. There are a lot of criteria that defines an elite team - not just YPG. This is the third time they have played for the national championship since 2002. If you look at their history it is easy to understand why they are considered an elite team. Let's give credit where credit is due.
when I first saw this, i got upset. But i thought to myself oh well, they still have to line up and play the game. See ESPN is pretty pissed with LSU and CLM, which is fine with me. They, stomp for USC every year and it hasnt panned out for them in the last 2 years. So they have to go another route. Also, Kirk is the guy who really wants to say what Corso is saying, but since he is supposed to be the expert anaylst and unbiased talking head, they let Corso go on with the foolishness. Cause he is the guy with the shock value all the time. Early on during the season, Corso pretty muched stomped for LSU every week. Now all of a sudden, LSU isnt a good team, what BS. Loses to Arkansas and Kentucky who both made bowl games. But his USC lost to Stanford and Ohio St, really didnt play anyone this year. But anyway, like i said they still have to line up and play the game:geaux:
