Did anyone else see this last night? I can't find any video of it, nor did I look that hard, but at some point in game 4 between the Celtics and Cavs, LeBron is going in for a fast break dunk when Paul Pierce grabs him from behind. A small scuffle ensues, then a lady appears on the left side of the screen. The lady is of course LeBron's mom. The best part about it: LeBron looks at his mom and says, "Sit you azz down!" It was funny and embarassing all at the same time. Funny for me, embarassing for LeBron.
Amazing that everyone is talking about this so extensively today on espn. I guess it's better than talking about his 7-20 shooting last night. Not to mention his previous 3 games of 2-18, 6-24, and 5-16. He seems like a likable guy, is a physical freak, and seems to be unstoppable when driving to the goal, but to me he is the least dependable "clutch star" I have ever seen. He throws bricks when he shoots and gets plenty of assists because he knows he shoots bricks. Guy just doesn't excite me.
Thank you Jesus, somebody who finally shares my views on Lebron James. You have made my sports day. He cant shoot, he is a great passer and he can finish at the goal better than anyone in the league, but sheez. He isnt clutch at all and he looks for calls. He has had a poor series. Thank, Dude
Well, let's take this topic all the way to its logical conclusion. Lebron James is overrated. There...I said it. He is an all-star calibre player, but he was sold to us as the guy who would re-define superstardom, possibly exceeding Michael Jordan before he's through. Jordan in his prime would fold, spindle and mutilate James. He is a creation of the ESPN-hype machine, which can't let us sit back and just enjoy a good player...they've got to replay, re-hash, and re-analyze every move he makes on the court. They'd like us to think he is to basketball what Tiger is to golf, or what Federer is to tennis. I'm sorry, he's not THAT good!
Not sure Lebron is overrated, I think the media overrated him. He isnt as good as many think and will never be Jordan. But seeing what he has done already compared to some other stars is scary. This fact seems to get overlooked a lot...he is 23 years old. He was not brought along slowly, and has never had good teammates. So he being overrated can be broken down two ways: He is overrated if you follow ESPN and they way they hype him. He is not overrated if you have realistic expectation of a high schooler coming out that was asked to carry his team from day one. He will only become a legendary player if he gets a PG and doesnt have to be the distributor, and can show off his passing skills and driving skills without having to run an offense. With all that being said I do not think he is a top five player but he is number one in potential.
It would be nice if he could learn to shoot. Just a little. I hear that's important in the NBA. Sometimes.
