    League-high 11 Tigers on Coaches ALL-SEC team

LSU's first-team All-SEC players include Alex Hurst on offense, Sam Montgomery, Barkevious Mingo,Tyrann Mathieu and Eric Reid on defense and Brad Wing and Mathieu on special teams.

The Tigers had three players listed on the second-team and one on the third-team.

Sophomore wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., junior offensive tackle Chris Faulk and senior placekicker Drew Alleman were named to the second-team while junior running back Spencer Ware earned a spot on the third-team offense.

I know...just playin' around with red a bit; hence the emoticon.

It easily could have read, "Alabama, LSU lead with 11 players selected; Tigers have league-high 7 on first-team."

Perhaps he didn't want to share. :D

    :D

It's a pretty good list. Some choices I see are a little odd, but otherwise I can't say I'd change much of it if I were voting.

Just at a glance this morning I noticed 75% of the first team all hail from the western division.

And, apparently most coaches aren't aware of the point that Malcolm Mitchell is has been playing in the defensive backfield at UGA since the spring. They have him 3rd team, WR. I know he played that position last year so I'm wondering if the general thoughts are he'll be back on the offensive side of the ball by mid-season. I know one of their guys is suspended for four games. I can't remember if he's a CB though.

Am I the only one who read "UK's Larry Warford" as 1st team OL and asked, "who the hell is that?"

Mitchell has actually been catching plenty of passes this summer from Murray. according to Murray, Mitchell has been going "back and forth pretty much" between WR and DB at practice, and that "he’ll be ready to go offense or defense this season." and Mark Richt said that he would like to play Mitchell 50-50 this season on offense and defense. so it will be interesting

he was Second Team All-SEC by the Coaches both last season and the season before that... and the season before that he was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team by the Coaches. but yeah, nobody cares about him because he plays for Kentucky

Last year LSU had exactly one first team pre-season coaches ALL-SEC player. We knew that some others were going to step up to this level during the year and they did.

We're going to need a couple to step up on offense this season. At Quarterback, running back, receiver, or guard, it doesn't much matter. If LSU is going to return to the Championship game, the offense must be talented and strong.
