Attended LeMans in 1971...pit pass and a carnival in the infield. What an adventure for a 19 year old kid. I’ll never forget how everyone turned their heads when the vetoes pulled into the Pitts. Everyone turned their heads....of course they didn’t last 12 hours. Quite a summer, spent 10 days in Paris, except LeMans and didn’t see a museum....did see a lot of sights though.
LeMans gets the publicity, but for an intense driving challenge, it doesn't come close to Nurburgring, which is next week. Here's a lap on the cross country section - for the 24H they use this part and the grand prix circuit combined, for about 8 and a half minute laps.
So go do it. https://www.rsrnurburg.com/product/public-driving-sessions On public driving days, anything street legal is allowed on the track, and they do not take responsibility if you wreck it.
