This recruit has been lost in the shuffle for awhile now because his grades did not look good for him eventually qualifying. Miles and staff were holding a spot for him in the beginning because they loved his ability to stop the run and cover but with his outlook it did not look good.

Now it looks like he put his head in the books and is very close to qualifying. ACT is good and is a point or 2 away from qualifying.

Look for him to get an offer if we miss out on Bostic and Jones. I think it will be him if his grades round out to come in with Mingo to round out the LB class.

He is down to LSU and Ole Miss and will officially visit both schools in Jan.

Well this would be great news if he does indeed make the grades.

He was someone we definitely wanted. He would be a great backup option.

he's so underrated, but then again the main reason we have heard nothing from him since earlier this year was the grades issue, I hope he makes it, he could be really good down the road.

Supposedly he has gotten his GPA up and now just needs to work on his grades just a bit more.

Getting closer to getting an offer from LSU I suppose.

Think he would be a good pickup for LSU. I would redshirt him his first year to let him get use to college physically and mentally meaning academics and truly balancing both. Maybe even a grey shirt would be good

Not the most accurate source in the world but Songy just reported that Chavis is in Sulphur today, recruiting Jones.

I expect him to get an offer if the grades check out.

What are your concerns with Jones???

LSU was very high on him earlier and we saved a scholarship for him before his grades got out of hand.

Coaches think he has the speed to drop back into coverage and plug up the holes in the dline.

We still need to LBs and Mingo and Jones look like our best bets because I am not confident in landing Jarvis Jones.

Absolutely none with Jones. I just hope Chavis is officially a coach before he makes contact with a recruit.
