I projected 4 LBs from the outset, would not be surprised or upset if we take 5. The 5th might be Tahj Jones (maybe a greyshirt?).

I am happy with either Williams or Bostic (or both, obviously).

We may very end up with:

    Williams
    Bostic
    Mingo
    Minter
    Ferrell

If you can't get excited by that LB corps, then I can't help you.

I've been a little ill, wasn't ignoring you.

Willie Ferrrell in my opinion is not a great player. Good but not great. Much better players are available, maybe in Louisiana.

Looking at his 'highlight' films this is what I see.

    Pro
    looks good with good size
    strikes a good pose

    Con
    slow
uncoordinated, awkward, slow in changing direction, not athletic
    doesn't play with fire, aggressiveness
not a hitter, on one of his highlight plays the ball carrier carries him 2-3 yards further down field after initial contact. That won't cut it.

I just went and watched both of his videos again and did not see those cons you were talking about.

He was where he needed to be and used his speed to make the tackle. Good vision and reading the plays. Saw a few where he changed direction pretty quickly. Comparing those traits with other LBs he looked like top LB prospect. HE played with fire and agressiveness.

Only time I saw he get moved back 2 or 3 yards after contacts was when his 2 or 3 of his teammates were tackling the RB from the opposite side and the pile was pushed a few yards. A DE and DT were the ones puching from the other side when the RB broke past the Dline into the backfield. Only other one I saw was when he was tackling a speedy RB or QB all alone in the open field and he took at his legs and the player flew over his head for an extra 2 or 3 yards and probably would have gone for a TD if no tackle was made by Ferrell.

Cons: not a speed demon but makes up for that with instincts, positioning. ala Highsmith.

Pros: According to what I saw and what Scout lisited: Agressiveness, instincts, and size. Good drop back ability as a pass defender over the middle. Good at conrolling and shedding blocks.(Last ones are key to being a great LB propect)

    212 tackles his soph year
183 tackles as a junior with 28 for loss

I just wish the LSU coaches would have contacted Dudley before making such an obvious mistake.

No, the coaches obviously know more than me and have more input than the clips on Scout and Rivals so I defer to them.

Speaking of coaches I notice he wasn't offered by Florida State or Florida. They have coaches too. Whatever the reason believe me if he was a top linebacker Bowden and 'Little Urbie' Meyer would be after him.

Scout painted him pretty good but they rank him as the # 16 MLB.

Rivals gives him 4* but doesn't include him in their top 250.

Nope, I'm sorry but I'm not here to beat down Willie Ferrell so best of luck Willie and I hope you prove me wrong.

I forget that Urban and senile Bowden never make mistakes in recruiting.

All those supposedly great defensive players recently recruited by Urban really stunk up the joint last year.

'Bostic' is a cool name for a LB... but 'Barkevious Mingo' will go down as one of my favorite all-time names for an LSU football player :)
