Why did you say he was too slow before? Was it based on video of him or a real 40 time? His 4.65 40 time by the services has now been reputed by some people who say he runs a 4.55. Give us the real scoop, the untold story, the lowdown, the....well just give us your opinion.

I know Parso is concerned with the lack of high profile schools offering this kid.

Same thing was said for Jacob Hester.

It was based on video & just generally what people were saying about him.

I'm starting to feel better about Barrow - regardless of his other offers. His high school defense doesn't allow him to shine, which is why his video hasn't really impressed.

I think he fits better on the outside than Jonathon Stewart does. Stewart's a better fit at MLB.

I like Barrow..think he should be solid. Maybe never spectacular, but solid. Solid is a step up from what our linebacker situation looks like right now.

Disagree. His measurables are very similar to the Stone Mountain linebackers that currently start for us. These kinds of players can be solid contributors as juniors and seniors, but will never be the type of playmaker that a Ali Highsmith is.

Lamin, feel free to prove me wrong. :D

To expound on my previous statement, you can definitely make up for a lack of athleticism by being in the right position (Jack Hunt), and you can make up for not always being in the right position by being extremely athletic (Chad Jones).

Unfortunately our current starting safeties and outside linebackers don't appear to have either of the above attributes. Jacob Cutrera seems to be improving the play at MLB, hopefully that continues.

The thing about highsmith is that he really didn't even have the measureables..didn't he run like a 4.7 at his pro day and a 4.9 at the combine?

Ali had game speed and was quick with good instincts, but he really didn't have the measureables that you'd think he had just watching him on the field. He looked like a 4.5 guy out there most of the time.

I'm just not sure about those combine results. It's really strange to run a 5.0 and then a 4.74 in consecutive runs to begin with.
