He was offered on Tuesday and committed last night.

He was offered a Grey shirt early in the process but he did not accept and after he has was evaluated many times throughout the year the staff felt they could not let him slip away. Ole Miss was the previous leader.

So. I wonder. Does this mean that the staff doesn't think J.Jones, Telfort, Williams or Bostic are even possible anymore?

I think we will still take Jones or Telfort along with Mingo if they want to commit. I think Barrow is just a guy the staff felt could help cover in the secondary from the LB spot and they did not want him going off and committing to Ole Miss before they offered.

I would say the staff still feels good about landing one of the 2 between Jones and Telfort.

Yeah, the Barrow commit surprised me...but like Bhelm and Bandit said...Jones, Telfort, and Mingo are all definite takes; however, none are locks. Getting 2 of 3 would be considered successful in my mind. Also, keep in mind, a lot of people believe Telfort would be a great SS if we do land all three.

Spots are of no concern just yet as we are looking at a class of 26.

Mingo looks like a lock to me.

This puts to rest anything happening with Farrell coming back into the fold.

Barrow is a very high 3 star at this point, and may be bumped to 4 star after his commitment to LSU. Commitments to high profile teams like this always warrant the services to take another look at a prospect and make a "correction" if necessary. I look for that correction to be made in one of the last rivals listings.

Rivals lists him with a 4.65 40, but he has been consistently clocked in the 4.5s. If that's the case, he could project at OLB rather than MLB.

Very possible but we would not turn down Jones or Telfort.

Isn't this the same guy that CParco said was to slow & LSU would not offer him? Man it sure seems that our aim has sure lowered a lot from what you fellows were thinking we would be getting.. Or, am I missing something here? If there is a numbers crunch what gives??
