FWIW, Jim Leonhard is the starting S for the Balitmore Ravens right now opposite Reed. He was a 3 year starter at Wisconsin and was All American in 2004, and he is 5'7. It's rare but not impossible to have success at that height.
What about the third best saftey in the league behind Ed Reed and Laron: Bob Sanders! That dude is missle at 5'8"
:insane: Now Laron is going to be really special, but this takes homerism to a new level...especially with this dude being arguably the best safety in the league. And this guy might be older now, but he just proved that he isn't done yet... [img[http://a.espncdn.com/i/headshots/nfl/players/65/978.jpg[/img] I hope Laron goes to the top of the list, but he isn't even top 5 yet. Every playoff team left has a safety better than him right now. Arizona, of all teams, might have two. Sorry for jacking the thread with this. Just couldn't let it pass. Laron has been quiet this year every since he got owned on national tv by Brandon Jacobs. That's a little humbling and embarrasing for a big hitter.
Davis' high school, Tucker High, is so upset about what Spurrier did to Davis that they have banned Spurrier from ever recruiting kids from their high school again. http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/shared-blogs/ajc/cfbrecruit/entries/2009/01/12/steve_spurrier.html
Whats the word on this guy? why aren't we going after him with all the SC ties we have on our staff, and D-ray his HS teamate...we should have a edge. Unless he really wants to play RB, then he's out...but at OLB we could use that speed.
We're just too tight on scholarships and Tahj Jones is waiting next in line at OLB. A greyshirt at that. That's the reason why nothing will happen on this front. I crunched all the numbers every which way possible and this guy appears to be out of luck as is anyone else who isn't a standout at their position (e.g., Su'a Filo, JJones, etc).
