The #9 and 4* MLB on Scout, Jonathan Davis, is committed to South Carolina. When he found out about Cooper leaving for LSU he said if he wants me to come over there with him he would have to sit down with his family and discuss it.

He thinks highly of Cooper which is obvious.

    Davis is from Georgia.

FYI, he attends the same HS as Drayton Calhoun.

I don't remember us recruiting him heavily early on... anyone remember?

I found a little info on him from the Calhoun thread - 5' 8" and a Katrina transplant from New Orleans.

I'm surprised he'd be ranked so high at 5'8"... although Rivals only has him as a 3* & #27 ILB.

Yeah, I don't know much about him but that is a little small for MLB.

Scout has him timed at a 4.37 forty, he sounds like a Safety to me.

5'8" is more than a little short for a MLB.

He chose South Carolina over UAB & Central Florida, yet claims offers from other big time programs in some interviews.

He was getting a lot of attention his Jr year when it looked like he might grow a few inches but it dropped off his Sr year.

I don't see LSU pursuing him.

Sounds like the next Trindon Holliday to me.

    5'8" 4.37.

Closest thing I could think of.

    Holiday never played any LB...

He's short & fast, (I don't think that 4.37 is accurate though) but he doesn't project as a RB in college.

He's a great LB - good instincts, hard hitter - just a few inches too short to be a big time prospect.
