Still did not make it official after taking his visit this past weekend. Looks like we will get word either Tuesday or Wednesday. Even though this kid is a 3 star recruit, word is that he has tremendous upside (a player in the mold of a Tyson Jackson) and that LSU would love to have him.
It is tough to be the only recruit on a visit. A bit easier when other things are going on. Question....when recruits come in, does CLM have other kids who have given their verbals also come in to help?
Something like 7 verbal recruits were along with him on the visit. He was the only uncommitted prospect in for a visit this weekend.
In this case, yes. Several committed kids had their official this weekend, though I think Edwards was the only hold out. His agent must be promising him a big signing bonus. :grin:
Most of the time, yes. Most of the time, it's kids from the area who can come on campus on unofficial visits. The thought is that while having a host from the team is great, that a player will respond a little better if they are talking to someone who is in the same shoes as they are.
I get the thought. We do it too. I think the players do more than respond a "little" better though. :yelwink2: Much easier for the recruit to see how they fit in especially if they are OOS.
The news of his private pledge better be right, or this kid made a huge mistake because there are still some DL out there who we would take and he might lose his spot if Sonny isn't correct.
