Anyone look at the latest polls today? Bama jumped Texas Tech despite stinking it up vs Tulane, LSU dropped despite not playing, and USC retained the top spot despite not playing. I'm confoooosed, but that's not a new sensation. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/polls?week=2
Say's we're seventh, where were we? I'm so confused with college football right now with all of the evacuations and game changes/postponements.
Pre-Season and after the first week of polls, the Coaches Poll listed us as #6. The AP has no bearing on the BCS race and therefor only matters to some fan bases. Not playing hurt us but not USC, despite Georgia looking pretty good too. Probably won't matter much in the long run, I just thought it was squirrelly.
If anyone should have dropped it should have been OSU. But they had to keep them where they were for the "Big Game". Why has politics taken such a hold on CFB? Totally BS if you ask me. Voters should have to watch the games and decide on what teams really looked the best.
I expected a drop for OSU. I am glad to see some "corrections" being made by the pollsters. It's much better than it used to be. LSU dropping to 7th in the coaches is not a surprise, since Mizzou was right on our heels.
This just adds to the smoke and mirrors of College Football. With the addition of the 12th game on the schedule, small programs are even more hungry for revenue sharing, but it appears that the only way the pundits will be happy about the rankings, after these games are played, seems to be only when, and if, the major programs absolutely crush their opponents. Anyone know of a plus to that strategy? Does anyone see a problem with that?
