I think it's more of Miles rewarding two current coaches more than a "make do with what you've got" approach.

The latter makes it sound like we couldnt find an adequate DC so we "settled".

I don't think he's "settling" for anything if these rumors are true...You can't complain with the staff Miles has brought in since arriving. They have proved to be quality coaches.

Peveto was DC at MTSU was he not??

I was actually talking about myself making due. Like I said, I'd be more comfortable with Tenuta just because I know what hes all about. If thats who Miles wants at the poistion then he certainly isn't settling for anything.

Peveto has not done a good job with special teams this year. Hope he does not get promoted.

After reading both Mallory and Peveto's bios on lsusports.net, I was impressed with both of their resume's.

The best part about this move is that our defensive philosophy won't change.

It may be tweaked, but the basics behind it will be the same.

At least I would think so.

    Oh really???!!!

    From the official LSU website:

    ....horrible....horrible job, indeed.

Special teams is more than just coverage.

I don't think ability to coach special teams really correlates to coaching defense.

i agree with parso that defense and spec team are two different animals. but i agree with bengal on performance this year.
while the kickers did great, the return and coverage teams were deplorable this year. quinn johnson may have had more rushing yards than we had punt return yards this year. it is definitely something needs to be built upon in the future.

I WILL ALWAYS hate that punt formation he uses. Way too close everytime.
