68 players and still ranked 6th. It’s safe to say that talent is not a problem at LSU. Never has been. Coach O has a lot to prove this year.

And if there were ever a year he and LSU needed a warm up game, this is the year. Breaking in 2 new coordinators and a lot of youth

It doesn’t help that his team had to evacuate, spend the week living out of a suitcase practicing and preparing away from their facilities and then catch a flight to the other side of the country to play an up and coming Chip Kelly coached team with 20 returning starters who already have a warm up game under their belt, all while trying to block out what’s happening in their home towns/State.

Spells potential disaster to start the season and revenge tour for this team.

I feel a lot less confident about this game now, all things considered.

You make a lot of good points. But adversity sometimes gives you the opportunity to shine. What a time for the team to make a statement that “LSU is BACK”. Time to man up and come together as a team.

Agreed. Given what we’re going through coupled with last year and all the negativity surrounding this program, to see this team block out the noise, rally together and bring home a win for their community Saturday would be fantastic.

To counter some of my points in the post above (all the disadvantages) here are my thoughts on some advantages for LSU: UCLA provided some film (at least on defense) we know they’re going to blitz often. They want to run the ball, our d-line needs to take notice and be gap sound.

Also, they played well enough to where they’re getting a lot of national recognition and now they have to block out that “rat poison”. Lastly and arguably most importantly, any chance they had of “sneaking up” on LSU just went out the window.

Turnover where? The amount drafted? Coaching staff?

Oh damn. Or 33% of the last three...come on.

The team will run through a brick wall for him, no doubt. Tell me how it's a "program" versus a "season."

What game was it...they had 50 something scholarhshipped players available and still played. That's a tough row to hoe.

I think the bulk of the year after the 3rd week or so. Leach cleaned house.

LSU played Florida with 50 something scholarship players after injuries and opt outs.

That's not unusual for LSU or other teams around collegiate football. It's not a one shoe fits all scenario, but it's certainly comparable to some other schools.
