It's a bit of a moot point because there's no reason for him to leave A&M and we definitely don't have deeper pockets than A&M, but I'd be happy with him. He's not who I'd pick if I could pick any coach outside of the obvious Saban/Meyer/Dabo/Day/Riley (though honestly I don't think Riley is notably better than a coach like Jimbo), but he's a solid coach and a hell of a lot better than O. He'd probably continue the "serious title contender every 4 years" thing Miles did, and I'd be okay with that personally. Napier has to be my first choice though. He's not a sure thing and is perfectly willing to turn down a program that needs a rebuild/isn't willing to give him full reigns, but USL is one hell of a good team for being a team full of unrated players and 3+2 stars. Personality wise he'd also just be refreshing after Miles and O. He's a total Saban guy. Meticulous preparation (he could probably still tell you all the things Bama did wrong in the 2011 national title game), believes that no matter how dominant you were you can be even more dominant, doesn't overlook anybody, and we wouldn't have to worry about shit like him shit talking a heckler and making an embarrassment of the school. I'd also be quite happy with PJ Fleck. He outcoached the hell out of Ryan Day last Thursday even if the talent gap was too much to overcome.
I've been thinking about this question since I read it this morning. I can't help but ask, "when has he been self-aware?"
he was pretty self aware when he bet against himself in negotiations, " just pay me 50k for salary so we can pay top dollar to the best coordinators in the country.... oh and by the way, can you make that payout 97 million? thanks"....
Eww, just eww. Aggies, gumps and burners are all in the same boat. Send them out to sea followed by one of those Obama drones.
