Harry Coleman was finally moved to the WLB spot, well at least in the drills the media was able to watch. Brooks was #1 at SS today. Calhoun changed his # to 33 from 39 and was lined up as the #3 RB. (Scott was not at practice today or at least the 1st part of practice)
Sounds like the move of Coleman to LB might be permanent. We will know more tomorrow. Good news is that Brooks is really coming on strong this Spring and the move now might have something to do with Loston and his eligibility issues. Maybe the coaching staff received good news on the Loston front this weekend.
This is surprising because Coleman is a senior. Unless it was just one of those plans to show Coleman the LB position in case we needed him as a backup if someone is injured he seems to have lost the job to Brooks. Brooks is smaller than Coleman and is a sophomore. I can't see Coleman earning a starting spot as a LB at this late stage of his college career.
I think this is more about Coleman providing a hybrid backer in obvious passing situations than the thought that he'd jump up the depth chart.
I like the Coleman move, I think he is aggression fits that position. Brooks at SS gives us a more athletic option there.
