I think the 2003 team was better than the 2007 team. I also think the 05 and 06 teams may have been better than both of them.

Well, i think in 03 if Jack Hunt plays against UF, LSU wins that game. I think the 03 team had a better defense all around, but the 07 season was a fun season. I think the 03 team was better, but i still the 07 was by far the best team in the country that season. No team will ever beat the 03 team in my eyes though because it was the first national championship i saw with my own eyes.

Well, you are not being absolutely honest or perhaps you simply misapply the word "inconsistent". Inconsistent would be like . . . Bama in the 21st century.

Two losses in triple overtime were the only thing keeping LSU 2007 from an undefeated championship season instead of a mere, "inconsistent" championship season. LSU won the SEC and BSC championship games including beating the #1 team badly, head-to-head in the championship game. That's the difference between LSU's 12-2 National championship season and Bama's 12-2 no trophy season . . . LSU didn't lose the two most important games.

If 2007 LSU is inconsistent, then 2008 Bama was more so.

Wow, that was a pretty good beatdown in the seccg in 2005.

The Miami score did shock me at the time, in retro that was the beginning of the big slide for them.

After our championship, Stallings had some excellent teams, but those close losses to florida in the seccg still irritate, and keep them off the special list.

Who would argue that? Not the Crimson Tide (see 12).

Consistent is not thy name if your talking Ken Tuck and AR Kansas, and the latter one at home sweet home. I can still see Mcfadden getting whatever he wanted, when he wanted, all game long.

You do realize all they could do was run? Your defensive line was scary....... still, talent wise, game day..... not always.

Just couldn't make special out of that. That year still was the craziest football year I can remember.

Not a knock, nobody else came and got what LSU took at the end.

Attrition, not Special got you the championship.

Still counts. I'd count it too.

So, red, should I ignore this one too? Or can I count "it" towards my disdain for their fans?

Yep, and the reason for it was our complete inability to run the ball. Joseph Addai had been a beast the first half of the season, and was largely unavailable during the last half due to an ankle injury. I still contend that we do not lose that game with a healthy Addai. The defense showed up. The 2005 defense was 3rd nationally in total defense and scoring defense.

Ok, no argument from me, from 2003-2007, you and florida, and an occasional georgia. You were the team!

You don't mine if we try to get in there on the next five years?

Dost thou want me to describe how Bama lost to The University of Monroe Louisiana, Solomon? Yea, and also unto State twice or a half-dozen other humiliations Bama has suffered in the last decade? Verily, I give you Utah . . .

Any National Championship is special, Hoss, unless you ain't part of it. Or are you suggesting all of Bama's championships are "special", just LSU's fall short?

Sure, pal. Do you think we are daft.

Finally you get to the obvious. There wasn't a better team in the nation in 2007. That has always been the definition of a National Champion, amigo. :crystal: :crystal:

Attrition wins it every year, Einstein. :insane:

"Not a special championship" like "Les wins with Nick's players" are lame excuses Bamafans recite to somehow account for LSU's success. Surely LSU can't have dominated a decade of football the same way Bama did in the 70's. They were not "special", you see. It was Nick success, not LSU's. How sad have some Bama fans become that they cannot acknowledge any success but their own. :dis:

Suit yourself. I don't disdain their fans, just some of their rhetoric. This one is awfully polite and has an artful banter, although he's not as subtile as he thinks he is. I'm having fun teeing off on his devious jibes.

    New direction, ya' know. :yelwink2:
