It’s definitely not recruiting. Bama offers most of the guys we get. Every time I have wondered that, a new coach comes here and win a NC. Not saying fire O, btw.
At least LSU people on 247sports Shea Dixon & Sunny Shipp say they have offers. I saw Oeaux lose out on the 3 Bigs on the Dline last year. I know you'd never actually say fire Oeaux. LSU will wait 2-4 years ttofinallybsend him packing, and hell be allowed to "Resign".
We have far deeper issues. LSU has more talent than MSU, VANDY, and MIZZU. Defense gave up 8.6 yards PER PLAY today. Wide open receivers and huge running lanes without any adjustments reflect an incoherent scheme, an inability to teach the scheme, or both.
Where is our Dline rankedvin the SEC after 3 should-have-been-easy games I wonder. Everyone was quoting how "Oeaux loves Pelini's more aggressive style & the 4-3 Defense"
After the first two games, we were the #1 pass rushing DL. After this game, I imagine that’s changed.
It is not "the onfield talent" and it may not be the coaches, but the breakdown is the intersection of the two. I swear there were some defensive efforts, on tv today, that looked like walk thrus, if not slower. This situation is embarrassing. Perhaps a regular spring and summer could have worked things out and synced the coaches and the athletes. But that did not happen. I don’t see it getting fixed, soon.
I'm starting to question. One of the few teams ever to have a HC on the sidelines without a mic on the head set. Lots of reasons for that, mostly good for him, but the act alone defines his own believe that he is not a great game manager and leaves the heavy work during a game entirely on his coordinators. Works if you have great coordinators, but if you don't, it's falling on the sword. I'm not sure where we are in all of this, but it is entirely on the coaching staff. Entirely.
