Gajan blocked for Alexander his senior year, but it was Kelly Simmons who made an All-American out of Alexander in '76 and '77. Simmons also averaged over 6 yards a carry from the fullback position. Interestingly, Hokie Gajan in 1984 is listed as #3 in NFL history for yards per carry in a season as a primary running back (after Mercury Morris in 1973 and Barry Sanders in 1997). 6.03 yards.
They actually mentioned Justin Vincent in the first week of '04 as a "possible", though early in the season. Of course, this was right before he went cold. Still feel bad for that guy.. he was a great Tiger.
Sounds like you're trying to insinuate that you're really too young to remember...:hihi: I was a student at that time...no I can't even try to insinuate anything like that.
I remember playing against that guy my senior year. It is nice to watch some of the players on tv that you played against.
According to this, Dorsey is the only LSU player to receive any votes since 1976. Rivals.com College Football - Heisman Trophy voting: 1976-present
I searched the page for "LSU" so I wouldn't have to read through them all and missed the "Louisiana State." My bad.
I think the page I looked at had the Top 10 finishers by year. And I was surprised Faulk didn't finish in the Top 10.
