PUT THE CRACK PIPE DOWN!!!!!! There is no way on earth that you are sold on the vomit you just spewed. And please remember without LSU there is no Saban. As much as he brought us back, we made him who he is today. Bama is just the recipient of the rewards he is receiving. Like this upcoming garbage show about Saban, be ready to be thrown in the dumpster. To him everyone and everything is disposable, and just a rung on the ladder to his own self promotion.opcorn:
Wow, Bama fans realy are delusional. First, I can assure you that no one cares about Nick Saban in Big 10 country. He hasn't coached there in over 10 years and he was only a mediocre coach while he was there. Hardly someone to take note of in his time there. Second, I guarantee you that most fans in the SEC could care less about watching a documentary about Saban. He doesn't have a personality outside of being a coach and he's hardly a coaching legend that would make it worth seeing. I would bet more people would want to watch a movie about Les Miles..but maybe not for the best reasons
No kidding. Bama fans remind me of that really nerdy kid in grade school. The guy that thought he was friends with everyone because he was "funny" and could make them laugh. When in reality, everyone was just laughing at him. I'll watch it because I love football and the inner workings of the staff and such. Not because its about Saban. Hell, I'd watch two hours of Kiffin and Orgeron breaking down film if they aired it. I wish we had access to more of this stuff about our own team. On a related note. A few years ago I caught the telecast of the taped Colorado spring game on one of the Fox Sports affiliates. They had the coach at the time doing commentary on the game. He was explaining what they were trying to do with play, where the reads were, if a player was out of position, etc. It was one of the best coaches shows I've seen. All we get is 20 seconds of dumb ass Jordy and Miles banter then off to the tape. JH - What was your plan for second half coach? LM - We had a want to run the ball. The team played hard JH - Lets take a look...
LOL...... In reality, I'm probably somewhere between "Gone with the Wind" as epics go and "Please Put Down the Crack Pipe." Maybe wishful thinking on my part to believe a documentary of this kind would make it big in BR. But hey, why not grab the wife and kids, take a chance, last picture he was in was nominated for an Oscar.
You took my thoughts exactly, because in my opinion, of all the coaches that were in the film his acting role was the worst. Of course it was apparent that he and his agent made sure his role was played up a bit with Mrs. Tuohy's comment about his looks. I would bet that the real Mrs Tuohy didn't say that.
I can see where many high school and assistant coaches are going to flock to this grand premier. It's the focus of "the process" these coaches want to see and emulate. Think of the business leaders who are constantly trying to overcome the human tendency to be mediocre. With Saban's ability to manage so many details at once and his driving force to suceed and have everyone around him be successful, it's a must see. Plus there are a ton of interviews from greats like Joe Namath, Bobby Bowden, Gene Stallings, Jimmy Sexton, even Jimbo Fisher and many former players, no doubt some near and dear to Tiger Nation.
