Just where do they intend to show this? I guess i will have to miss it... Finebaum: Nick Saban grants unusual access for upcoming film | al.com A film on Saban and his career will debut on the big screen in late August in a limited theatre run. The première of "Nick Saban: Gamechanger'" is scheduled for August 24 with an expected general public debut several days later.
Actually, this documentary is going to let the world into this multifaceted personality known as Coach Saban. It will remind Purple Nation of the kinder, fun loving cut up, who's wit and and great sense of humor has all at ease. With his love of music as well as his feel for botany, it's therapeutic to put into context, that indeed, Coach Saban is the most interesting man in the world. Last thread referencing Coach Saban? Surely you jest.
The day dude bolts and you know he will I am gonna laugh my @ss off over your over the top crotch nuzzling here. What a poseur.
LOL I have had many run-ins with Saban and we had many mutual friends and that was never his style outside the public eye. But that was just him and none of his friends had a problem with it. More of the standoffish type who engaged when he needed to but not in a bad way for the most part. He could put on the charm as well in a moments notice.
I wonder if screenings will be held at his home for recruits during visits? Does this infomercial have a very specific target audience of 32? Did Oliver Stone direct this?
This is just stupid on so many levels. I don't mean that as a slight against Saban, because he is a great coach. Just that the marketability of a documentary about him is only for a select market. 80% of the viewers will be sports fans, a decent market, but here's where it starts to shrink real quick. 70% of that will only be college sports fans, 60% of that will only be SEC sports fans, and 60% of that will only be Bama fans. I could see an HBO or ESPN special at best. More than likely better suited for FSN or ESPN 2/3, but not in a theater.
can i join you? i'll bring the popcorn. most sociopaths can. :hihi: ding ding ding! we have a winner!
i was thinking the dollar bargin bin at walmart. that would be the ideal place to reach those that are gonna eat it up.:rolleye33:
You underestimate the dynamics going on. With these two entities at work (Saban + Alabama), you can sense he has become "The Rolling Stones." Obviously with Ingram's home state and Saban's connections to the Spartans you can't just think Michigan, but all the big ten would be fascinated. The SEC region speaks for itself, you know the thought: "keep your friends close, but your enemies even closer." Coaches, media, fans, a special shout out to the great state of Texas, are going to be intrigued, who really is this man? What drives him to be the best? Where is Lake Burton? Friend or foe, all will be fascinated to finally get an inside glimpse as to why it's working at this phenomenal pace. Frankly, it may not rival the classics, like say, "Forrest Gump" but it should be just as riveting, and thought provoking. Get ready my friends, "The Saban" is coming to a theater near you.
