Thank to coach Porter for your dedication and hard work landing us some of our best talent. I certainly hope he's a huge success at his alma mater. LSU will be alright in the long run, I hope we're not hurt too badly this year and the next few while his replacement builds relationships with the high school coaches.
And the coaching tree of Les Miles' assistants going to head coaching jobs elsewhere grows and grows and grows... :milesmic:
Hopefully Crowton  Going to the press conference today (hopefully) it will be interesting to hear...
Have the runningbacks been a bright spot? Will we be able to replace Porter with equal or better quality? I'm impressed with the quality of players we've gotten, but less so with their output on the field. Is this a line issue? Maybe a OC or HC issue?
I'm thinking more of an offensive line issue. This is the only year we've really struggled to run the ball. I don't think it's his fault if the RB's haven't produced much. He can only do so much. I'm guessing he had a huge part in the recruitment of Scott, Keiland, Murphy, Trindon and all the other younger talented backs we've gotten. They have all developed a lot since they got here, especially Scott and Hester. He def will be missed. He was Rivals National Recruiter of the year in 07.
Larry Porter has hired Mike Dubose as defensive line coach. Also Porter could make a huge offer to lure LSU offensive line coach Greg Studrawa to Memphis as the OC.
I'm guessing bout 36k per year will do it. Although, I think Memphis wouldn't really get their monies worth.
