I noticed throughout Landry's career and as he became more well known, he gradually became more daring and personal foul prone. It seemed that the end of his senior season was the worst as far as flags go.

Yeah, that's why he was a first team All-American and a #6 overall draft pick.

Dirty as in a hard hitting bada$$ player, not as in a "dirty" player. What he embraces is the fact that he's an NFL safety that is supposed to punish each and every player that comes his way. This is football, and that's what they get paid to do. As for trash talking, it does get into the head of receivers. I remember watching an NFL segment when Chris Carter (one of the best receivers ever) was talking about Bill Romanowski as a dirty player because he used to tell him that he was gonna take his knees out if he goes over the middle. And that's when Chris Carter was long retired from the NFL. Fear is what its all about.

No no, you misunderstood. I agree with everything you say. That's exactly what I meant when I said he embraces it. I don't think he's cheapshot artist at all. He's one of my all time favorite LSU players.

Again, I only saw a few minutes of the game. Maybe Landry had some conflict that I missed but....

I am all for the hard hits and agree that a safety must play on the edge. But the hit I saw was well after any potential play on the ball. It was just plain stupid and moved the Bears into sure field goal range as they took momemtum from the skins. Take the hard shots, but don't hurt your team's chances of winning with moronic penalties because of some supposed NFL safety code.

And the trash talking I saw out of Landry was absurd. He got burned for an 8 yard reception and the receiver basically ran out of bounds. Yet Landry was jawing like crazy. Next play was another reception but not on Landry. He runs up to the pile a la Ray Lewis and starts talking. It was ridiculous. No way I respect this sort of play.

I wish we'd seen some of that during the UK game this year. And I definitely hope we see something like it against OSU.

What the heck is wrong with some of you. Go watch ballet or something "Oh no he's trash talking what a mean person!!" Do you want LaRon Landry to bake cookies for the other team's WRs?

LaRon Landry is the man, stop hating.
