Eh...The only thing Peterson really did well was play mistake-free. I don't really remember him being a dominant force on the field like Webster was, but maybe I'm not being objective enough. I haven't compared any stats or draft ratings...I'm simply going on my impressions of their play on the field for LSU. It seemed like Webster was good for an interception a game, at minimum, whereas Peterson wasn't really the turnover machine that some of his own teammates were.

Webster had the benefit of playing behind the 2003 national championship defensive line which gave him a lot more opportunuties for interceptions. Plus no one really threw PP7's way so his numbers will never be that great. Scary thing is Peterson still hasn't reached all his potential as a CB. Webster did have better technique though and def was no slouch. He has made a lot of big plays that helped the giants win their superbowls.

Corey is a converted WR and has those instincts. PP7 is pure DB though I think Webster has better hips and PP much more speed. I do expect PP to convert to safety ala Charles Woodsen and really make his mark.

Give me Laron Landry any day of the week. Just him plowing over and through Wilson and Croyle back to back years on a safety blitz is enough to etch him in my top 5 favorite LSU players of all time. When you see 30 standing over you, you know you just got knocked the fuck out. Good for the Colts, now that Manning is gone I kinda like them.

I have gotten to the point to where I only watch NFL games for two reasons. 1) To watch former LSU players excel and 2) to watch a safety just absolutely blow up an offensive player. Nobody does both like our guy "Dirty 30".

    season.
    ...
    Landry (four
years, $24 million) will add edge to a
    defense that's been lacking it.

He's been mostly the #2 in the 2-deep rotation at every position on the 49ers D line. In practices leading up to the Super Bowl, Harbaugh said he was "unblockable"

This is what the Colts GM said about him:

"Ricky is a quick, aggressive and extremely
powerful player," Grigson said in a statement
released by the team. "He has been a mainstay
the last four years within a dominant NFL defense
with a lot of special players. He not only has
familiarity with our scheme, but he is versatile
enough to play any of our defensive line positions.
At 26 years old, we feel the arrow is pointing
straight up and we're looking forward to him
making a big impact for us this coming season."
