"I will be taking official visits to Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss and USC". Of course I think Florida and Florida State are in this thing also but he probably doesn't need an official to have seen them. USC is supposed to be out of scholarships even backdating some so good luck on that, but then Lanie Kiffin and Ed Orgeron always did think NCAA rules were more like "suggestions." Can't see him going to Ole Miss either but still 5 schools in it...probably long shot for LSU for hey, when Billy Gonzales was on the staff, we couldn't even get visits from Florida kids...same with Earl Lane.
Probably not, but then Sam Montgomery wasn't supposed to be coming to LSU either. Funny, I believe he has suited up for LSU a few years hasn't he?
I'm not saying that LSU was not recruiting him hard, but he made his announcement on TV on signing day and it surely surprised the recruiting guys. I can't speak for the surprise on LSU coaches part because of course it is against NCAA rules to speak about recruits until they sign, but the recruiting services were who I was talking about. They did not have him signing with LSU in their projections.
Wasn't talking about how hard we were recruiting him but a number of fans and TSD had him as a potential guy to fill out the class and the prior rumors about him and Trent Richardson coming together before Saban sent the recruits to TR HS. Montgomery visit was considered a sincere visit and one that put us squarely in the mix. As of now Tunsil's visit seems like a hot ticket visit.
