Lane Kiffin new USC head coach

Guy at the presser posted this about 10 minutes ago:

* No sign of Lane yet. Rumor is that his plane landed at 4:20 [6:20 central] so he could be running late.

* Players spotted so far hanging around include D.J. Shoemate, Shareece Wright, Travon Patterson and Brandon Carswell.

* Varsity Lounge is packed with media, packed.

* Fox Sports Net is covering this live

* We were just told Lane is on the freeway, halfway here. This could take a while.

 

Honestly, USC really had no choice in hiring that jerkoff. I know their top 2 recruits didnt enroll in school Monday as planned and basically gave them a 8am deadline to find a new coach or they would be attending school elsewhere (Scroggins and Prater). Absoulutely NOONE was interested in that position as there top 5 choices turned them down. Said jerkoff actually contacted USC that morning. Scroggins and Prater are now back and enrolled in school...go figure.

Also, said jerkoff has it made at USC. UT is being investigated for what HE did in his 14 month tenure. If USC somehow gets penalized...he has an excuse for all loses in the foreseeable future and has argueably the top coaching position in the country...and making more $$$ in the process. He knew UT was going in the **** hole and competition in the PAC-0 will get his record closer to .500 than if he had to compete against the SEC.

Well, that was fun. Kiffin managed to do just fine until the floor was opened for questions. The Los Angeles reporters were pretty hard on him, grilling him with tough questions about his integrity and how he treated Tennessee and about how Ed O was trying to get their players to come to USC. Kiffin almost lost it with one of them.

 

There is one really impressive thing about Kiffen: in just barely over a year's time he managed to make Tommy Tubberville almost seem likeable.

 

For me it didn't even take that long.

 

Especially considering LSU didn't play Tennessee while he was he coach. As some have posted, UT will be better off without that guy.
