If it was a track scholarship, then it should be very easy to prove whether its legit or just a ploy to get LC. Was she offered elsewhere? How are her stats? Do they compare with similar recruits at Bama or elsewhere in the SEC? If her stats aren't up to snuff, then it would be damn obvious what was really going on.

    none of that matters.

    Unethical? .... yes, highly unethical.

Within the rules? .... yup, as far as I can ascertain, it's legal.

I think college recruiting has reached the point where a few programs have become openly arrogant about bending the rules beyond ethical borders that are increasingly difficult to define. Like the practice of grayshirting ... it puts a lot of kids through a meatgrinder environment without giving them adequate skills to cope with it.

For what its worth. On the Bama forums they are gloating about the LSU fans badmouthing LC on both the LSU boards and on Twitter. They feel that will prevent him from changing his mind and say LC tweeted that he has now "seen the true colors of LSU fans." They seem to have removed every negative post about his mom and are reminding people NOT to post about the mom.

They are thrilled to have raided LSU's back yard. Thrilled.

    Come on Monday night....

Understandable. We would be pretty puffed up if we pulled a LC-type talent out of B'ham or Hoover. Now, I don't read TOS or use twitter, but the comments here have not been that negative toward Collins. There's some bitterness, obviously, but the comments are not malicious or even all that mean-spirited, IMO.

Yes very understandable. But also very hypocritical to gloat about angry LSU fans while deleting and banning all attacks on the mom on their own boards.

FYI, I glance at TD maybe 5 times a year and see they've now banned any posts about recruit's families, moms, gfs etc. A good policy.
