Can we merge all this with the other Collins thread in the Recruiting. We are expending a bunch of energy on a kid who doesnt want to be an LSU Tiger and is 18.

Lets focus on who is going to be a Tiger.

Also everyone upset about us losing the top Louisiana player to Alabama. Bama lost the top player in Alabama, matter of fact 2 of the top 3.
It happens. Kids want to experience new things. I dont hate him.
Who cares, he is not a Tiger, great. Good luck we all got upset over Joe Mcnight and Jackson and both ended up being huge wins for us.

Not that big of a deal.

I'm with you TexasTigers. I think what ticks people off is the drama and hype surrounding some of these kids being recruited by bigtime programs. It turns into a sideshow, especially when announcements are made during or as part of these all-star games. An 18-year-old kid will eat up the attention, and when/how the kid plans on making an announcement develops a life of its own. It's excerbated when we consider the maturity level of a kid still in HS.

Remember when McKnight made his announcement? I think it was him -- the school held an assembly, ESPN's cameras were there, and the kid is sitting at a table in the front of the room with two hats. To me, it's an unnecessary spectacle, and the McKnight case in particular, I object to pulling kids out of class for it.

    My 2 cents anyway...

I'm over it. I promise myself this is the LAST time I will enter a LC thread. Dude could end up a total bust and I will have wasted too much time fretting over a never-was.

I'm with you. I'll read one more batch of LC threads tonight, then I'm done with it.

For anyone not already OD'd on the topic there are almost 3000 comments at the link below.

What a sellout. He'll regret it just like McNight regretted his decision. Momma knows best son!

At least the gumps sealed up yet another well rounded, articulate, quality young man & not a thug like the ones they say our team is loaded with.

I seriously think that would be a great comeback t-shirt for the homeaux t-shirt. Have Landon Collins mom on it, and her quote on the front.

You guys are getting way too deep in this topic. Sure, he's the #1 Safety in the nation, but we locked up the #1 QB & that's much more important to our team than a Safety, which our roster is loaded with.
