When Leonard goes pro after next season his brother is too, lol. Hopefully he's a serious student and studying something in the financial management/marketing arena. That's where his real training should be. Lanard is a good athlete but his brother stripped the gene pool before he came along. FTR, in big games St. Aug would switch Leonard to LB and Lanard would get many more RB snaps. They beat John Curtis during Leonard's senior year using that approach. Last year with Lanard getting many more touches they bottomed out. If not for Leonard, Lanard would be at Southeastern.
Shit, he is getting a free education and he gets to watch big bro tear it up from the sideline. Pretty sweet gig if you ask me. Wait is he a walk on or did he get a scholarship?
The financial mgt/marketing arena sounds promising - he could represent his brother. That's probably what you are alluding to.
He's a true freshman, 18 or 19 y/o. Weight room/Moffitization, proper diet/ protein, couple of years... He can do that financial management thing too.
Must have been confusing when they were kids since their names are so similar. Hopefully Lanard is here for 5 years and plays a role somewhere down the line while Leonard comes back to watch him play after getting the NFL Offensive rookie of the year. I've been hearing about Leonard for what seems like 5 years. I've never heard a negative thing about him, either on or off the field. Hopefully he's as genuine as he appears to be.
He did play tailback at St. Aug and was pretty good, but they mostly used him as a Darren Sproles type with much of his activity being split out in the slot, motioning from the tailback spot, and they utilized his fairly good ability to make people miss in space. Think a less talented Skyler Green.
He's not going pro and I'm sure both he and big bro want him to be more than just along for the ride. May as well maximize it. Like Lebron James' main guys Rich Paul and Maverick Carter. They didn't start out as his agent. They were Lebron's best friends. They used their position to learn the business and are now pretty major guys in the sports entertainment world. I'd say it's better to do that than just leech.
A walk on guard about 5-11 named Dennis Tracey was a teammate of Shaquille O'Neal's at LSU. After college Tracey was Shaq's personal manager.
