Anthony Ranaudo looks to be back. The velocity is nice. the ball is down in the zone. Good things. Good things. He keeps this up the rest of the year, it would help this team 100-fold.
Its really good to see Ranaudo back to old form but being selfish, I was kind of hoping he wouldnt fully recover this year so maybe he would be back next year. Oh well, maybe he will be back next year.
He was good early but 7.2 innings with 6 runs 5 earned off of 8 hits isn't exactly great. Happy for the win though.
Well, if we had a solid bullpen then he would not have been asked to go so far. They really tried to get him through that 8th inning when the 7th should have been his last.
I don't think that if the game had been close CPM would have left him in. I think since he was having a good outting, not great, CPM decided to keep him in the game to let him continue to work thru his mental issues and build his confidence. I' m sure if it was close, or he started to get rocked CPM would have pulled him and put in a MR, but we had a good solid lead and the kid needs a confidence building game and a W to continue to rebuild his confidence. Hopefully it will pay dividends further into the postseason. Now if only Ott would come back to form. We are going to need both of them to make any type of push in the postseason. This was a good start though, knocking off the #1 team in the conference can definately lift the teams and players attitudes. It's all about getting to the belief that they can win no matter what. Maybe this was just what they needed.:geaux: :tigbas: :LSU231:
exactly. He left with two outs in the 7th with 2 on. Could have just as easily been 7 2/3 with 3 ER, which would have indeed been a dominant start against a very good Florida offense.
I think when he got that out vs MState and got all fired up something may have come alive in him. And I agree...his stats don't do him justice for last night. His bullpen didn't hold, and he had to go too long. Good outing...and I hope it gets better.
I am worried about what is best for Ranaudo, I wouldn't be mad if he left and wouldn't blame him. I wasn't being an a$$ about it like you seem to think. I also want what is best for the team and we all know it would be better if he did come back and it'd be great if he did. I wish Gibbs would stay too but we all know that won't happen.
Well, based on the reports of that he has slipped in his draft stock, we might have a good chance for him to come back. Then again if he has a great post season his draft stock may rise again.
