if i told you that your purchase of marijuana contributed to the destabilization of mexico and almost certainly helps get people killed would you quit?

our nations friendship israel definitely gets people killed. should we be enemies with israel?

dutch filmaker theo van gogh knew it might get him killed to make anti-islam movies. should he have quit and given up?

salman rusdhie almost surely knew he would be a target of islamic murderers for writing the satanic verses. should he have quit?

these pro-freedom protesters in the middle east, they know that their protests will result in khadaffi or whoever else killing them and innocent people. should they stop?

our founding fathers knew a revolutionary war would get people killed, and still they declared independence. like the murderers in afghanistan, are they?

stop defining behavior in terms of how lunatics react to it. right and wrong is not defined by murderous kooks. what is wrong with you, honestly? this is the most cowardly opinion possible.

    so disappointing

Man your analogies suck. This dude knew that if he burned the Quran, people would die. Didn't effect him though because he lives in ****ing florida. And quit trying to say that he was trying to make a point. He is a media whore who wants attention, and got it. Now people are dead. They wouldn't be if he wouldn't have burned the Quran. End of story.

why? burning a book is a symbolic act. cant you understand that? there are still plenty of copies of the koran!

seriously, do you understand what symbolism is? it means you are not actually doing something. you are not actually removing the information contained in the koran from earth. you understand that right?

i mean seriously, what is wrong with you?

i have lots of books. recently i took about 100 of them and threw them in a dumpsters. i just didnt have the space. is that ok? what if the dumpster is taken to staten island and incinerated with e rest of the garbage? is that ok?

sometimes i erase books from my kindle. is that ok? this is a serious question. it sounds ****ing stupid, but it is serious. i dont think you understand some very critical and simple things about symbolism and information.

You can do whatever the hell you want to do, doesn't mean i have to agree with it? Why didn't you donate them to half priced books or something? You do understand the concept of people disagreeing with one another right? That is still ok in this country right?

i know that because america is a rich secular nation, that sooner or later muslims will kill some of us. do you understand that? do you understand the point there?

really doesnt matter what his intent was. he lives a free country and can burn whatever he wants. why can you not see that?

exactly like a guy saying "i shot him because he looked at me funny. he would alive right now if he hadnt looked at me. end of story " true, but so stupid!

my books really had no value, it was easier just to toss em. you didnt answer about books i erased on kindle. is that ok by you. they are just as gone as if i had burned them.

would you be angry if this preacher dude had burned a usb 2gb jumpdrive with 100,00 korans on it? that would be destroying precious information and perhaps angering lunatics at a much higher rate. and we cant anger lunatics!

i didnt say you cant disagree with me, i am telling you are tragically, stupidly and aggressively wrong, and your mentality is cowardly and makes the world worse.

also, i am curious, at what point does a book become magical and sacred, according to you? if i write a book can i burn it? what if it really short? what if it is written on a cocktail napkin?

can i burn newspaper to start a fire in my fireplace? what if i bind the newspapers into a book? can i burn a matchbook? what if it has writing on it? what if the writing is in arabic? can i burn a picture of mohammad? what if i just drew it and it is really a picture of a turtle that reminds me of mohammed?

and also, i have mentioned this before: the way the publishing industry works is that they publish lots of books and then the stores sell them and send back extras. the extras that do not sell are then destroyed. if muslims heard that some of the destroyed books were korans (which they very well might be) would you demand that the publishers rent out storage space and keep the korans forever?

This is exhausting, and it's the last thing I will say about it. I do not condone the burning of books. Will I lose sleep if they are burned? No. Will I picket against the burning of books? No.

You do whatever the hell you want, whatever makes you feel better about yourself. Go for it dude.

i just dont think you have ever thought about why you have this opinion, you just kinda mindlessly accepted it. again, books are not sacred. they are just paper and a little glue and stuff. try thinking about things and not just repeating goofy axioms you heard.
