Riots in Afghanistan over Dove World Outreach Center Quran burning - The Independent Florida Alligator: Features

In the blue corner, fighting for Jesus, we have Terry Jones, a pastor from Florida who loves long walks in the park, Jesus, trailer parks, and burning Qurans.

In the red corner, fighting for Allah, we have the Dirt Road Warriors, from Parts unknown Afghanistan. They enjoy beating women, burning Bibles, killing white people, opium growing, and long walks on the dirt.

Seems that the Dirt Road Warriors are in control right now, as they have killed some folks over the burning of their stupid religious book. What will happen next? Who will strike the next blow??

again, the burning of korans is a good thing, not a bad thing. people who burn the koran are heroes, and have twice the balls i have. i would never burn a koran in public, not because it is wrong, but because i am geniunely scared i would be beaten or killed. and that is a terrible thing, when i cant express myself without fear.

so again, i know every ****ing coward media outlet, including john stewart will condemn this, but i support it wholeheartedly.

I really don't give a damn either way, I think both factions are stupid.

right but you are so slow minded i had to actually convince you once that there is nothing inherently immoral about book burning.

and it isnt stupid to burn the koran. the koran is a terrible book of lies that causes violence and murder of good people.

if evil exists, the koran is evil.

no you didn't. I wouldn't burn it because it's a book, and I'm not a nazi. And you can't sit there and say that about the Quran and not the Bible.

yes, because printing presses imbue magical sacred qualities into items.

i can say it about either at any time i like. let me know when someone is burning bibles and we can be aware that i am consistently hating all holy books, which we all knew but you were making a non-point again.

that's your opinion. You think it's great for people to burn books, I don't. Even if it is the Quran. Do i really care that these 2 forms of religious nuts are bickering, nope, as a matter of fact I wish they were a little closer to each other so they could off each other. But, I have more of a problem with the thought of destroying a book, then I do, the actual message behind burning the Quran.

and the magical sacred quality is reading, and knowledge.

You'll have your work cut out for you if you want to burn a Bible. Because of the sheer mass of material, the only way to print them for practical use is to use very thin paper and bind them extremely tight. I suppose this keeps out the oxygen flames need, but the upshot of it all is that Bible do not burn readily. A church burned here in Morgan City a few years ago, and I walked through it the next day with the state fire marshall. He picked up a Bible that had been exposed enough to flame that it was well-charred on the outside, but completely untouched inside. He told me he's investigated countless church fires and has never found a burned Bible.

I know this takes your hateful rant nowhere; I just like putting a Cliff Claven spin on things.:D

and all this time I thought they started making pages less flammable because of pot heads.

i have a hard drive with a million copies of the koran on it, may i erase it and fill it with porn? or is the koran too sacred?
